Vahan.ai’s AI-Powered Hiring Solution

Vahan.ai’s AI recruiter engages candidates through phone calls, helping them discover suitable jobs, apply for roles, and schedule interviews. This method is particularly beneficial for blue-collar hiring, where candidates may not rely on formal job portals or written applications.

To enhance its AI capabilities, Vahan.ai has partnered with tech giant Nvidia. The company has collaborated with Nvidia’s technical team to fine-tune Nemotron 3 Nano, a specialized AI model designed for efficient recruitment conversations.

Nemotron 3 Nano, with around 30 billion parameters, is roughly one-fourth the size of Vahan.ai’s previous 120-billion-parameter model. While larger models can handle complex tasks, a recruitment assistant requires a narrower role, making a smaller, specialized model practical.

Benefits of Using Smaller AI Models

The smaller, specialized model is faster to run and less expensive, yet performs well when trained for specific tasks. Vahan.ai fine-tuned Nemotron 3 Nano using its own production data, including real recruitment conversations corrected by humans.

The company tested the model on seven recruitment-specific benchmarks, covering response correctness, function calling, human-like interaction, language matching, and tool-argument accuracy. The fine-tuned model performed better than both the base Nemotron model and its earlier cloud-hosted model.

Vahan.ai reported nearly 6.7x faster time-to-first response and more than 3x lower average end-to-end response latency. Madhav Krishna, founder and CEO of Vahan.ai, stated that costs could come down by 60% to 70% or more. The fine-tuning process took around two to three weeks.

Speed is crucial in blue-collar hiring, where candidates may apply for multiple opportunities simultaneously. A delayed response can result in losing a candidate to another employer. A faster AI recruiter helps companies engage workers sooner while keeping recruitment costs under control.

Future Plans

Vahan.ai plans to continue leveraging AI to scale its hiring solutions. The company aims to add more Indian languages to its platform, making it accessible to a broader range of candidates.
